TIERRA AZUL | HARBOR BAR
West Harbor, San Pedro, CA
Tierra Azul Harbor Bar is envisioned as a vibrant open-air hospitality pavilion at the heart of West Harbor’s Central Park in San Pedro. Positioned directly along the waterfront promenade, the project transforms a compact site into a highly visible social destination—connecting the energy of West Harbor’s restaurants, retail, landscaped public spaces, and harbor edge. The design is intentionally open and porous, allowing views, pedestrian activity, and the coastal atmosphere to become part of the experience.
At the center of the project is an efficient service pavilion surrounded by guest-facing bar seating, outdoor lounges, and lush landscape. A wraparound bar creates an active edge on multiple sides while the more functional back-of-house components are consolidated and screened, allowing the majority of the site to remain dedicated to guests. Layered planting, low transparent barriers, and a variety of seating zones define intimate spaces without disconnecting the bar from the surrounding promenade or waterfront.
Architecturally, Tierra Azul combines the relaxed character of Southern California waterfront living with a more refined, contemporary hospitality experience. Warm natural materials, deep overhangs, integrated lighting, distinctive signage, and landscape create a pavilion that transitions easily from a casual daytime gathering place to an atmospheric evening destination. Conceived as both a destination in itself and an extension of West Harbor’s public realm, Tierra Azul is designed to become a lively social anchor along the San Pedro waterfront.
