Private Residence
Beverly Hills, California
Drury Architects is providing comprehensive architectural services for the transformation and expansion of this private Beverly Hills residence for a confidential client. The project represents a full-scale reinvestment into the property—repositioning the home to meet contemporary standards of space, function, and luxury living while respecting the architectural character of the surrounding neighborhood.
The scope of work includes a significant second-floor addition, doubling the size of the existing upper level to accommodate a new bedroom suite, private study, and an expanded primary suite. The new upper floor is designed as a private residential retreat, with carefully considered adjacencies, enhanced natural light, and refined spatial sequencing. The vertical expansion is thoughtfully integrated into the home’s existing massing and roof forms, ensuring a seamless architectural relationship between new and original construction while maintaining proportional balance from the street frontage.
In tandem with the addition, the project includes a complete gut renovation of the existing residence. Interior layouts are being comprehensively reimagined to improve circulation, functional flow, and visual connectivity between living spaces.
Material and finish selections play a central role in the transformation, elevating the interior environment through a layered palette of natural textures, custom millwork, and contemporary detailing. Openings are being reconfigured to strengthen indoor-outdoor relationships, reinforcing Southern California’s lifestyle emphasis on daylight, landscape views, and exterior living integration.
